Water has always been the identity of Boston since the beginning. The design addresses its topic on 'living densely' with a mixture of housing development and takes advantage of the water proximity by introducing public water transportation and BRT as inexpensive channels to address critical transit needs in the region. The development also touches on the historical context of land formation and serves as an extension from the South Boston neighborhood by introducing a series of amenities and public spaces. The proposed features such as the core green axis and the St. Patrick's Skywalk not only generate values but also deal with the urging sea-level rise challenges with an environmental sensitivity.
